I passed this thick stand of aspens often during my summers in Colorado. One morning I was earlier than normal. The sun shining almost directly on the trucks while the deep shadows and dark pine trees behind provided a contrasting background caught my eye. I made a small series of batiks from this inspiration.

This batik is 5.5 by 7.5 inches mounted in an 8 by 10 inch frame.
